Museo Archeologico di Napoli. Il plastico di Pompei sbuca all’improvviso in una grande stanza e ti lascia immediatamente senza fiato. Costruito quasi tutto in sughero tra il 1861 1 e il 1879 resta unica testimonianza di alcuni scavi che poi andarono distrutti con i bombardamenti durante la guerra o per colpa dell’incuria. Mancano ovviamente le parti degli scavi fatti successivamente, cioè l’anfiteatro e alcune insulae della Regio VIII .
Certo dopo essere stata tra le rovine della vera Pompei guardare il plastico può essere riduttivo, ma in realtà non lo è. L’opera minuziosa di ogni singola casa, tempio, piazza e terme ha dell’incredibile, e il panorama è comunque impressionante.
Archaeological Museum of Naples. The model of Pompeii suddenly emerges in a large room and leaves you immediately breathless . Almost all built of cork between 1861 and 1879 remains the only evidence of some excavations which then were destroyed by bombing during the war or because of negligence fault. Obviously it has missing parts of the excavations which were made later, like the amphitheater and some insulae of Region VIII.
Certainly after being in the ruins of Pompeii watch the plastic may be reductive, but it is not actually. The meticulous work of every single house, temple, square and thermal baths is incredible, and the view is still impressive.
